Prime Minister Imran Khan Friday launched the distribution of the Naya Pakistan Sehat Card Punjab for the entire population of Punjab at a ceremony held at the Governor House.
The universal health coverage program would enable each family to avail of medical treatment up to Rs 1 million a year.
During his day-long visit to the provincial capital, the prime minister would also chair different meetings on administrative and political affairs, law and order as well as development projects.
While addressing the launching ceremony, PM Imran Khan said that not everyone can take such revolutionary decisions like health cards as the PTI did.

“Today, every family in Punjab will get the health care facility. A welfare state is one where everyone has the opportunity for development and prosperity. For the first time in the State of Madina, the state took responsibility for the weaker segments of the society,” he said.
The prime minister said that the model of the welfare state can be seen in today’s Europe but not when it comes to Muslim countries.
Taking a jibe at PML-N’s mantra of making Pakistan an Asian Tiger, the prime minister said, “Asian Tiger is nothing compared to the State of Madinah, we are trying to put Pakistan on a path of prosperity.”
He said that now the government will not spend money to build a hospital, people will come and build a hospital.
“We want everyone in remote areas to have access to health facilities and by March 2022, all families will have received health cards in Punjab.”
Benifits of Naya Pakistan Sehat Card Punjab 2022
- The health card in Punjab program provides two distinct packages:
- Secondary care coverage for hospitalization up to Rs. 60,000 per family per year.
- Coverage for major priority diseases for hospitalization up to 400,000 per family per year.
- The coverage could be extended up to Rs. 1,000,000 under special circumstances.
- The provision of services to the beneficiaries is executed through an insurance company.
- All hospitalizations will be covered except for the exclusions agreed with the Insurance Company.
- The beneficiary can go to any empaneled hospital across the country.
- No capping on family size.
- Pre-existing diseases are covered.
- Coverage on yearly basis to all age groups.
- Both public and private healthcare facilities provisionally licensed by Punjab Healthcare Commission are entitled to empanelment in the health ard in the Punjab scheme.
- Inter-district portability is also available.
- One-day pre and Five days post-hospitalization expenses including the medicine are covered.

Naya Pakistan Sehat Card Punjab will be working in different districts of Punjab Hospitals. The Sehat card online registration has been started for all low- Income Source Families who are unable to pay Hospital Expenses.
How to Check Naya Pakistan Sehat Card Punjab Eligibility
Step 1: Write Sms on your Mobile Phone and Send Your National Identity Card Number (CNIC) to 8500 or Call 0800-09009.
Step 2: Get your Sehat Insaf card or Qaumi Sehat Card from your District Area Hospital Near You.
In case you have been declared eligible, you can receive your Sehat Insaf card / Qaumi Sehat Card from the card distribution center developed in your district.

Hospital Admission procedure under Naya Pakistan Sehat Card Punjab
Under this program, you will be provided a free treatment facility under Naya Pakistan Sehat Card Punjab in case of admission in selected public and private hospitals.
- Before going to the hospital for admission, make sure that you have a Naya Pakistan Sehat Card Punjab, your original National Identity Card, and their “B Form” in case of admission of children.
- Select the nearest hospital from any of our selected hospitals listed on the PHIMC website with these documents. Upon arrival, a representative of the program will be present at the hospital reception to guide you.
- The representative will check your National Identity Card and guide you to the relevant department.
- To avail New Pakistan health card in Punjab, make your National Identity Card as soon as possible and ensure proper registration of all your data (eg marriage, birth, death, etc.) in NADRA as soon as possible.
